Services from Paper Lagoon

The mission is to make storytelling a utility for clinical work while being easy and accessible to all people. It can be an empowering and visceral experience.

The purpose of these services are to enhance clinical skills by teaching creative tools that tap into a deeper understanding of personal narratives. This can be applied to institutions in addition to individuals.

  • We can deliver seminars on how to implement narrative work with clients for social service and health care agencies. They can be requested any time. Paper Lagoon can provide a sequence of training events, or a singular training event through in-person engagement or virtual learning.

  • Narrative assessments can ethically review mental health documentation with accordance of HIPPA laws, assess consumers, and provide consultation on case management for better interventions and outcomes.

  • For individuals seeking professional or personal guidance on how to utilize Narrative work for their own practices. Individual work is a counseling and coaching based resource.

  • With limited availability, pro-bono consulting can be provided for non-profit agencies. Individual pro-bono work is based on a sponsorship and donation to Paper Lagoon.

If you ever spent time grieving the things that have been lost or broken, Or avoided remembering them due to discomfort, Narrative can help restore emotions with vibrant color.

The Paper Lagoon Philosophy and Value Structure

No entity can be limited to a singular Identity, but rather a constellation of merits that have been earned through the challenges we face in our lifetime. The value of this practice is to embrace all that we have earned for ourselves, and shed what we wish to let go of.

Coming from extensive experience working with all levels of mental health treatment, It became clear that thematic feelings of success and failure can transcend generations. My mission is to educate providers and individuals with practices that actually feel good for the soul. Therapeutic storytelling should not be exclusive to a persons privilege or ability to hold a pen. It should be accessible. Nonprofits and private practices are all welcome to join in this mission.

I believe Narrative psychology is destined to help vulnerable populations, and is the key to cracking the code of clinical language barriers between providers and the community. Stories aid in communication, and I seek to draw from key structures of human development and personality theory to reinforce this practice. By involving evidence-based practice, Paper Lagoon will suggest ways Narrative Development can be universal amongst all types people regardless of limitations with reading and writing.
